Counselling

When we experience these times of stress, anxiety or low mood, our vision of the big picture of life often shrinks to a focus on just coping - and even that can be a struggle. It can be hard to see the wood for the trees. My aim is to be a calm and neutral conversation partner, who can ask the right questions and provide a research informed perspective. I want to help you see your sense of self and your relationships from a bird’s eye view and through a lens of hope

I work with adults who are wanting to improve their mental health.

For example, those experiencing:

Overwhelm: such as a parent needing resilience as they support children who have their own mental health challenges. Staying calm and clear and finding your own ‘true north’ when life throws more than you feel you can handle

Workplace burnout: due to the demands of a stressful job or ministry, perfectionism and ‘over-functioning’, this needs a carefully planned recovery as well as working on better stress awareness and management

Loss of sense of self: certain life stages require recalibrating who you are and where you are heading

Anxiety and low mood: often requiring a holistic approach involving improved self care, diet and exercise as well as managing self talk, better handling negative feelings and challenging relationships, and investing in the spiritual dimension of life

Coaching

This is for those who would like to invest in their wellbeing and develop effective protocols for physical and psychological health. In high pressure environments it can be a challenge to maintain healthy strategies and coaching can enable the shift from ‘just coping’ to flourishing, as well as the prevention of burnout. Coaching also includes supervision for those in ministry.

Feel free to contact me to explore possibilities for counselling and coaching. Depending on demand, the best I can do may be to put you on a wait list, but we can chat about options once you contact me.
